Seeing Dominic again was so weird, she couldn’t even explain it properly. She has thought about him many times since the break-up but she shielded herself against it with hate. Dominic hurt her so badly it left a really bad scar on her. And now, there he was, attending the same school, just like old times. She was about to have him on the sight every. single. day. Now, however, she welcomed his company. After all, now that Allie was in real trouble so she didn’t want to put her own burden on an already weak Allie, Dominic was her only home now. She turned to him and examined his face for a moment. His expression certainly changed, his eyes were filled with sadness and coldness at the same time. She knew him too well, she was under his skin and he couldn’t hide anything from her. He was an open book for Mia. “What took you so long, Vega?” she laughed at their inside joke, a reoccurring question she kept giving him.

Dominic blinked a few times, trying to get himself back to the realization he was here to spend time with Mia, not think about himself. His chuckle to the question she always asked was maybe a bit too obviously.. Unreal. The word ‘fake’ did not seem to fit because he wanted to laugh with her. For some reason still unknown to him, he couldn’t bring himself to it. “Nervousness.” He was blunt with Mia always and he refused to lie about his feelings.. He had not seen her for nearly a full year and seeing her once again was a bit nerve-wracking. Nothing could change that, not even his self-assured cockiness.
